Snow Goose Flowering Cherry Tree Seedling

Every Spring the Snow Goose (Snowgoose) Flowering Cherry tree gets blanketed with clusters of snow white blossom opens with long tassel anthers. The stamens become shades of pink as the flowers mature. The Snow Goose that look similar to its cousin the Yoshino cherry, Both trees are direct descendants of the Japanese native Oshima cherry. 'Snow Goose' Snow is a cross between Prunus speciosa (the Oshima cherry) and Prunus incisa (the Fuji cherry) and developed in the Netherlands.

This specimen tree can be seen in gardens of the finest Georgetown, Alexandria, and Capitol Hill row homes. The Snow goose is an excellent flowering tree to line a driveway, parkway, walkway, or a property line. This ornamental is ideal for street planting within tight narrow locations.

The Snowgoose grows to approximately 25 feet tall. It has upright growth that spreads to about 15 feet as it matures. This hardy, disease and insect resistant variety is more tolerant of urban pollution than other Japanese ornamentals. The tree is suitable for most soil types, but requires free draining soil as does not tolerate constant water logging. Planting on a hill with a slight slope is fine. Many landscapers is flat table locations create a mound and place the Snow Goose on top.
